Week Seven

Week seven.

What have I learned - I have learned a great deal from this class. I learned that it is important to write to a targeted audience. I also learned that it is very important to include a POW and WOW in your essay. I know that from taking this class I can write amazing papers in the future.

What have I done - We have not done anything yet this week. There is no class on Monday.

How do I feel about what I have learned and what I have done - I feel a lot more confident in my writing because of all the techniques we have been taught so far.

What could I do or what could the professor do to make the course better and improve my writing skills - I really think I have improved a lot, and I will continue to improve to be a successful writer.

Week Six

Week six.

What have I learned - I learned that women should be happy with their image no matter what. A lot of ads that women see everyday with beautiful women on it do not really think that most of those ads are photo shopped or the women in them have a airbrushed tan. It is so important to be happy with who you are.

What have I done - This week we did a great assignment that women are very pressured by today's media to be beautiful. Which is SO true. It is funny how women are always pressured to look "young" and "beautiful", but with men... they are not pressured to look a certain way. We then made a power point of how men could possibly be pressured by the media, which we came to find out they are not as pressured as women. We also discovered which tool we would use for our midterm reflection, and this is mine :)

How do I feel about what I have learned and what I have done - The assignment we did that talks about how women are so pressured to look good by the media really was an eye opener. It is very true, and you never really think about it in your everyday life. Women see a million ads a day with skinny, tan, and young women on it, which can really hurt a woman's self esteem.

What could I do or what could the professor do to make the course better and improve my writing skills - We discussed more about POW and WOW techniques, which I know will greatly improve my paper in the best way.

Week Five

Week five.

What have I learned - I learned a little about how we treat our environment and how much we need to fix it. It is important that we do all we can for ourselves and for future generations.

What have I done - This week was probably one of my favorite. We discussed how far would you go to get information from a terrorist. I thought this was very interested. We also watched a video on a boy getting questioned about his sister's death, and the cops mentally abused him and made him admit to something he did not do. We also did a lesson on the environment, we watched a very cool video of what is happening today with our environment, the video explained that we can not 100 percent fix the environment but we can do a lot to slow the destruction down.

How do I feel about what I have learned and what I have done - This assignment was interesting. I like that we are assigned things that deal with our world today and a lot of it is addressing issues with our world.

What could I do or what could the professor do to make the course better and improve my writing skills - I believe at this point in time from everything I have learned in these 5 weeks that my writing is greatly improving.

Week Four

Week four.

What have I learned - This week I learned how to use a wordle. A wordle is where you type an essay or submit any writing and this tool will mix the words around to make a visual graphic of your writing, which I thought was pretty cool. We also learned what it meant to be a civilized society.

What have I done - This week we watched a video on America's toughest prisons. We also read a story called "Shooting an Elephant" which later led to us discussing morals. We discussed if we believed the author of the book ( man who shot the elephant ) was justified to do it. A lot of people had many great pros and cons to their decision.

How do I feel about what I have learned and what I have done - This week's assignment was a good one because we discussed what we thought the man should have done with his situation in shooting the elephant. I believe that it was a very good lesson on morals and really makes you think.

What could I do or what could the professor do to make the course better and improve my writing skills - This week I learned that I could use a wordle to improve my writing, some people are just visual learns and have to physically see something to understand it.

Week Three

Week three.

What have I learned - I learned that it is important to take risks in this course, which I am not use to because of how I was taught from my comp 1 teacher. I also learned that when you are writing it is very important to have a targeted audience, which I really never thought about using that method until this course. I also learned how to find credible sources, and how to distinguish if they are credible or non-credible.
What have I done -
I really really really enjoyed this assignment. I love conspiracys, they really interest me. I loved the fact that we got assigned a conspiracy and we had to try to find the truth behind it. It was also interesting that we got assigned to read storys on the 9-11 tragedy.
How do I feel about what I have learned and what I have done- I really enjoyed this weeks assignments. I believe that it really caught the student's eyes. I also am very happy that I learned that wikipedia is not a credible source, and that I now know how to find one.

What could I do or what could the professor do to make the course better and improve my writing skills - This week I learned that it is important to have a targeted audience when you are writing, which I could use to improve my papers.

Week Two

Week two.

What have I learned - I learned how to better an essay. We had to read a essay, fix the title and make a short revision of it. I also learned what a POW opening was, which later helped me with my first essay of this course.

What have I done - We had to read a short essay, and we watched a video on how people forget things after high school (which I completely agree with ).

How do I feel about what I have learned and done - This was at the beginning of the course, and I like that we watched videos and things that are humorous. I really believe that kids will pay attention more and do better in class if their assignments relate to their everyday life. I really enjoy the things we do in class.

What could I do or the professor do to make the course better or improve my writing skills - I believe that I could go a little more out of the box with my writing, I keep it "too general". My first comp teacher always taught us to go by a strict guideline, and now Professor Bolduc - Simpson has taught us to never be to plain. It will take me a while to get use to the new method.

Jennifer Anderson's Midterm Reflection

Week One.

What I have learned - This week I learned exactly how a hybrid class operates, which I soon came to learn that I love it. I also learned my class mates names and a little about them from doing a activity that Professor Bolduc- Simpson assigned.

What have I done - This week we did not do much because it was the first day of class, we basically just went over the syllabus and requirements for this course. We also did a fun activity to get to know the other class mates.

How do I feel about what I have learned and done - Well for this week I cannot say I learned anything except for how the class works, therefore I do not really have an opinion of how I feel. I can say that I really like having a hybrid class a lot better than a regular comp class. I feel that we need to better educate ourselves with technology because that is what the future will consist of.

What could I do or what could the professor do to make the course better and improve my writing skills
- I personally do not think that their is anything the professor or I could do to make the course better, I really like it!
